Foreign Buyers: Notary, Fees and Repatriating Funds
Published on October 12, 2026

Non-residents can freely buy titled property in Morocco. The sale is usually handled by a notary, who checks the land title and registers the transfer.
Allow around 6–7% of the price for acquisition costs (registration duties, land registry, fees).
Funding the purchase in foreign currency through a convertible dirham account lets you repatriate resale proceeds later. Agricultural land outside urban limits requires a VNA (non-agricultural use) authorisation.
